Player Selection Policy

Eligibility

  • Only players whose membership fees are fully up to date will be considered for selection.
  • The Treasurer will confirm which players meet these requirements prior to the selection process.

Team Selection

  • First XI: The 1st Eleven will be selected from the designated senior players’ squad. This squad may be adjusted throughout the season to allow for both promotion and demotion as appropriate.
  • Second XI: The 2nd Eleven will be selected from the pool of remaining available players.
  • Youth Players: Progression of youth players into the senior teams will be at the discretion of the Club Management.
  • Sunday XI and Friendly Matches: These teams will be selected from the wider membership of the Club.

Selection Procedure

  • The Selection Committee will meet on Monday evenings to finalise team selections.
  • Confirmed teams will be published via the Club’s official WhatsApp platform.

Player Responsibilities

  • It is each player’s responsibility to check whether they have been selected.
  • Players must confirm their availability for selection no later than 9:00 p.m. on Thursday via the Club’s WhatsApp platform.
  • Failure to confirm by the stated deadline will be taken as unavailability, and the Committee reserves the right to replace the player.

Youth Teams

  • The Under-15 Team will be selected on a week-to-week basis. Players will be notified directly by the designated youth coordinators, Reuben or Evan.

Code of Conduct

  • All players are reminded to familiarise themselves with the Players’ Code of Conduct, located on the inside of the back cover of the Club Handbook.
